Speech and language therapy
Speech and language therapy is a service in Doncaster
The speech and language therapy (SLT) service provides specialist assessment and therapy to adults throughout Doncaster who have communication or swallowing difficulties because of a neurological condition.
These difficulties can be a result of acute conditions such as stroke and head injury, or a long-term condition such as Parkinson’s Disease and multiple sclerosis.
How we can help
We provide services to inpatient rehabilitation wards, see people in community settings and support end-of-life care within the hospice service.
We also advise on alternative methods of communication and provide training in a variety of healthcare settings.
How to get help
If you are aged 18 or over and have difficulties with communication or swallowing, you can request a referral to SLT via your GP or another named professional involved in your care.
