Volunteering in the NHS roadshow

Do you live in North Lincolnshire and thinking of volunteering in the NHS and like to know more? Then come along to our volunteering roadshows on Friday 29 November 2024 and Wednesday 4 December 2024.

You can meet and chat to some of the team from Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) at The Ironstone Centre, West Street, Scunthorpe, DN15 6HX on 29 November 2024 from 1pm to 3pm. Find out about the volunteering roles which you may be interested. Light refreshments will be available all day.

The second roadshow on 4 December will be online via Microsoft Teams from 10am to midday. You will have the chance to meet the team and get an understanding of volunteering in our trust. We will share role descriptions for the volunteering posts. If you are interested then please register and get the link for this online roadshow by emailing rdash.volunteers@nhs.net and put “North Lincolnshire volunteer event” in the email title.

Patient Experience and Involvement Lead, Stuart Green, who is assisted by Volunteer Co-ordinator Joe Warner, said: “The sessions will be an opportunity to invite people of all ages and diverse groups to come and have a chat about jobs, apprenticeships and volunteering opportunities within our organisation.

“Currently, most of our volunteers tend to operate in the Doncaster area, providing fantastic support, and we now want to up the numbers in North Lincolnshire.

“We are also eager to talk to a wide range of patients, carers and members of the public who would like to have a say in how we run our services.”

Some of the volunteering roles we have included supporting administration, kitchen support and meals and drinks as well as being involved in service improvement.

There will also be the opportunity in the afternoon to begin the paperwork necessary to start volunteering with the trust, so do bring ID with you if you can.

Volunteering with us can open many opportunities to support meaningful activities, gain some experience, help with getting job ready, put something back into the NHS, meet new people. If you have a few hours or more to offer in your week, please reach out.

All out-of-pocket expenses will be covered as an active volunteer including opportunities in training and development.

If you are unable to attend either of the events and are still interested in volunteering, you can email rdash.volunteers@nhs.net and we can discuss what opportunities may be available for you.
